Just last week Marcus was on a business trip to Singapore. Since it was cheaper to fly home on Sunday instead of Friday or Saturday he could enjoy a weekend running around with his camera :-)

Gestern habe ich mal wieder auf dem Flugplatz ein paar Winterbilder geschossen. All in all "same same but different". Dennoch gibt es ein paar Bilder, die man posten kann.

Winter in Germany

Well, we're far into 2009 already and so Katrin and I figured we could post some stuff on our blog. For a change we're having quite a winter this year and the higher Black Forest has been under a permanent snow cover since November. The airfield of course, also has been under a constant snow cover so that there has been no flying recently. However, all the snow makes for some great pictures.

We arrived back home safely after a fast flight from San Francisco to Frankfurt. Strong tailwinds helped to keep the flight just below an amazing 10 hours. Ironically enough it took us another 5 1/2 hours after landing to get home from Frankfurt. Still it was a fast trip home.

We will put up one last conclusion post in this blog exploiting our trips statistics as well as a link to a detailed picture page once it has been set up!

Wir sind wieder sicher in Deutschland gelandet. Starker Rückenwind hat unseren Flug von San Francisco nach Frankfurt erheblich abgekürzt, so dass wir weniger als 10 Stunden in der Luft waren. Die Heimreise mit der Bahn nach Waldkirch hat dann aber selber nochmal 5 1/2 Stunden gedauert.

Wir werden noch einmal einen abschliessenden Post hier reinstellen mit allen Statistiken, sowie einem Link zu einer Bilderseite.

Last Day

Today was our last full day in the States. We started out by visiting Al Catraz and then walked over Coit Hill down into North Side from where we caught the bus back "home" to our motel. By car we then drove up to Twin Peaks for an overview of San Francisco only to continue on to the western end of the Golden Gate Entrance. We watched the sunset and then drove through the town to Lombard Street where we went down the steepest and crookedest street in San Francisco.

We just completed our online check in at the Apple store next door and will leave it with that. It's dinner time now!

Heute war unser letzter voller Tag in den USA. Begonnen haben wir den Tag mit dem Besuch von Al Catraz. Wir sind dann ueber den Telegraph Hill in die North Side gelaufen und haben den Bus zurueck zum Hotel genommen. Mit dem Auto sind wir dann auf die Twin Peaks gefahren und anschliessend an das Suedwestende der Golden Gate Meeresenge. Dort haben wir den Sonnenuntergang abgepasst und sind dann mit dem Auto zur steilsten und schiefsten Strasse, der Lombardt Street, gefahren.

Soeben haben wir unseren Online Checkin im Apple Store durchgefuehrt und werden jetzt zu Abend essen gehen.
