Nach ein paar sehr entspannenden Tagen in Buenos Aires ging es fuer uns weiter in den Norden. Wir sind nun doch geflogen, weil wir uns eine 36-stuendige Busfahrt ohne viele Highlights ersparen wollten. Puerto Iguazu hat uns hier erwartet und wir haben auch hier zwei sehr schoene Tage erlebt.
An einem davon ging es auf die argentinische Seite der Wasserfaelle ... eine der groessten Wasserfaelle der Welt, die bereits seit mehr als 20 Jahren zum Weltkulturerbe gehoeren. Bis zu 60m fallen die Wassermassen hinab und wir haben sehr viel Wasser gesehen. Es war fast ein wenig unheimlich direkt ueber diese Wassermassen zu laufen und die alten durch eine Flut von 1992 weggeschwemmten Stege noch zu sehen. Als wir dann in die "Schlucht des Teufels" geblickt, Regenbogen gesichtet und die nach oben stobenden Wassertropfen beobachtet haben, ueberrascht uns ein tropischer Regenschauer und wir sind wirklich! von oben bis unten komplett nass. Ein tolles Naturwunder das wir uns morgen nochmals von der brasilianischen Seite anschauen werden.

Finally we did opt for the flight from Buenos Aires to Iguazú instead of bussing it in 36 hours with no real sights on the way. Iguazú lies on the outermost edge of Argentina, bordering with Brazil and Paraguay. It is famous for its waterfalls the Cataratas de Iguazú which are among the biggest in the world and probably the most spectacular. The setting is in the middle of the jungle where the water drops over a 60-80m high basalt cliff over a length of about 2km. It is absolutely amazing to see all the different small, big, huge and gigantic falls tumble down into the gorge below! The Argentinians have built walkways right over the river to the edge of the fall which allows you to stand directly over the spot where the water crashes down into the "Garganta de Diabolo" - the Devil's Throat!!
Today we moved over to the Brazilian side and will have a look at the falls from the other side tomorrow. Then it is off to Rio for our last 10 days of a so far incredible trip.
We will update pictures but connections here are slow, computers old and USB seems to be a foreign word. As soon as we have a chance we will do so, though!
