14th Inning Stretch

A record breaking night!! We tied the German National Record for innings played at a Mariners game - in total 14 innings! And Katrin got to do the 14th inning stretch - a really rare occasion at a baseball game. Furthermore, the game was historic - it was the most scoreless innings played ever by the Mariners. Clem contributed that to the great pitching. Anyway, we really enjoyed the game and watching Ichiro play. The grand finale was Ken Griffey Jr. winning the game with his single RBI in the bottom of the 14th. Great game. Read what the Seattle Times have to say about the game!

---------------------------------

We woke up to better weather this morning. It's not gray and rainy, it's only gray! What a way to go ;-)

Yesterday afternoon we had lunch at the Edgewater and then proceeded on down the waterfront, stopping by all touristy spots. We finished the afternoon at Paul's office near Pioneer Square. Annika came over in the evening for a joint Burger Feast!

Tonight we will meet Clem and Lisa for dinner and then go over to watch the M's game against the White Sox. This will be fun for sure.

Good Morning Seattle

-------------------------

Good morning from a wet and rainy Seattle. We had a good night's sleep and were up and about by 7 a.m. this morning. Time to explore the early morning activity at Pike Place market with a warm cup of coffee in our hands. We also had a delicious apple cinnamon roll from Pyroshki Pyroshki Bakery. Katrin enjoyed the market and got a first rough orientation of Seattle. The next hour we will do some rough planning for the upcoming days before we meet with "our lawyer" for lunch. The afternoon is planned down at the waterfront.

Landed

After a 10 hour flight we landed safely in Seattle. Left in grey rainy weather and arrived in grey rainy weather - the captain said "typical for Seattle". Let's prove him wrong these coming weeks.
The flight itself was uneventful. A lot of clouds and we could only get a few views of Greenland this time around. Once in Seattle Katrin needed over an hour to get through immigration. We had two Korean and one French load in front of us.
Meanwhile we are sitting at Linnea and Paul's place enjoying the view over Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. We'll meet with Uncle Clem tomorrow for lunch. Sounds good!
