14th Inning Stretch

A record breaking night!! We tied the German National Record for innings played at a Mariners game - in total 14 innings! And Katrin got to do the 14th inning stretch - a really rare occasion at a baseball game. Furthermore, the game was historic - it was the most scoreless innings played ever by the Mariners. Clem contributed that to the great pitching. Anyway, we really enjoyed the game and watching Ichiro play. The grand finale was Ken Griffey Jr. winning the game with his single RBI in the bottom of the 14th. Great game. Read what the Seattle Times have to say about the game!

Mein erstes Baseball Spiel ... und es war gleich ein Historisches. Normal sind wohl 9 Innings und wir haben ein 14 Inning Spiel gesehen. Zusätzlich gab es nur 1 Punkt, was wohl ebenfalls sehr selten vorkommt. Mir hat es Spass gemacht und ich glaube, dass ich nun auch ein wenig die Regeln verstanden habe. Doch warum ein "deutscher Rekord"? Marcus' Familie war 1990 zusammen in Seattle und haben dort ebenfalls ein 14 Inning Spiel gesehen. Und selbst für Paul und Linnea war es das erste so lange Spiel, sowohl in Innings als auch in Zeit.
