Finally sunshine...

...or at least some rays of sun during the last hours of our three day trip. We arrived back in Seattle this evening by ferry from Bremerton. This morning we did check out the trailheads at Paradise on Mt. Rainier but everything was in the fog - nevertheless the mountain was crowded. We instantly agreed that despite the fog we had seen enough and headed down to the sound for better weather. Around the Bremerton area we checked out a beach and finally saw the clouds move aside for some sunshine. The ferry ride back to Seattle was great and finally gave us the first opportunity for some good light photoshooting. Tomorrow we will be at the big "Anderson-family-reunion-bbq". We are looking forward to that before we head to Vancouver on Monday morning.

Nach 2 2/3 Tagen Wolken, Nebel und Regen hat sich wenigstens für die letzten Stunden heute die Sonne gezeigt. Nach 2 erfolglosen Anläufen auf den Mt St Helens (beide Male im Nebel verhüllt) haben wir heute früh - allen Webcambildern zum Trotz - uns auf den Weg zum Mt Rainier gemacht. Wieder im Nebel gelandet mit hunderten Wochenendtouristen haben wir sofort gemeinsam beschlossen, dass wir genug von dem Schlamassel gesehen haben. Die Devise lautete "ab in tiefere Gefilde", die wir an den Stränden der Kitsap Penninsula fanden. Dort kam dann endlich die Sonne raus, und wir konnten die Rückfahrt auf der Fähre von Bremerton nach Seattle in vollen Zügen geniessen. Endlich gab es auch mal vernünftiges Licht zum fotografieren!
