Back to Cusco

Maybe some of you thought that my entry about Machu Picchu was too negative. Well, to put it right: Machu Picchu itself is a great experience and we enjoyed everybit of it. We just didn´t find the touristy feeling so appealing. Anyway, pictures from MP are now also online. So have a look.

The day after Machu Picchu we headed back to Cusco for the night. Marcus got up early at 5.30 a.m. to climb the ruins in Ollantay before we had breakfast and took a taxi back to Cusco. On our way back we saw the road blocked by a landslide which had only happened a day earlier. The taxistas are very flexible though and just drove around it...

Back in Cusco we checked in to a neat hostel that Lisa had recommended - thanks for that! We strolled around town and must say that we really liked Cusco. It does have a flair. After dinner and a massive thunderstorm it was off to bed for an early rise the next morning.

---------------
